About renxkyoko

Hi, there, my dear blog readers. I finally figured out  how to do this About Me thing. This really proves that I’m the most techie challenged in the universe.  I suck at anything electronic, mechanical, or what not. Anyways, how many readers do I have ? I look at the stats every now and then, and well, the numbers are pitiful. I am not popular. < laughs> Seriously,  do I care ? This blog is like my daily diary…. and you know what a diary is, right? It’s supposed to be  secret . So, what am I doing here, writing down my thoughts, musing, and talking about my pathetic life ? Ah, it’s so uncool. So, it’s fine, really it is, if nobody reads my stuff here. And, the truth is, what I write here is just a fraction of what’s really going on in my life. Enough said.

So, who am I ? I’m renxkyoko iglesias. This is obviously a fictitious name.  I’m a Molecular Microbiology student, planning to go into nursing when I graduate.  I was born in the Philippines, lived there until the age of 6 or so until we immigrated here to the US.  I have a brother and a sister. My brother is a Mechanical Engineer, and my sister is also a Microbiologist.  This is all for now.

Ah, here I am again, updating….. about my parents………. both graduated from the University of the Philippines.  There’s really not much I can tell you about me, except I play the violin, and I play it well, if I may say so myself.  I love reading books too, if you can believe that. Well, if you’ve read my blog, I just revealed I read Japanese comics and animes. < laughs > However, i can’t forget what my English teacher in middle school once said… “there’s no such thing as literary trash. Read whatever pleases and entertains you. ” So, I went ahead and read all of Robert Ludlum’s and Tom Clancy’s books, John Lecarre’s, Patricia Cornwell’s, John Grisham , and so many others’. Oh, and Jane Austen’s, to satisfy the romantic side of me. Well, as you can see, I’m more into thrillers. But, it doesn’t mean I have not read any of the classics….well, they were required readings in school. lol Oh, and not to forget, I’ve read a fair amount of political books. I’m actually a political animal, so much so that I actively volunteered in Hillary Clinton’s political campaign during the Primaries. It was my first time to vote, and I’ve voted in every election since then. I can discuss with anyone details of the health care reform, but I can’t talk about that on my blog. That would be very boring.  This is all for now.

Another update:

But at the rate I’m going, this about me thing will turn out to be a novelette. lol   …. Okay, slum book time…………

1. My favorite foods:  I can eat anything, except sauteed worms and stewed bull’s private parts. I don’t like frogs, either. and snakes, dogs, or insects, etc… And i don’t like my food too spicy. I actually have an unladylike appetite, it’s embarrasing. I love all kinds of cakes, all flavours of ice cream, potato chips, grapes, oranges, cherries, banana, banana fries, turrones, Chinese /Japanese/Filipino food, plums, melon, leche flan, Coke Zero, mangos, papaya, avocado shake, mango shake, halo-halo, lumpia ( pic shown here)

2. Movies:   I don’t like any gangsta and Mafia movies. I don’t know what my all-time favorite movies are, but , okay, I’ve watched Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping, Independence Day, My Cousin Vinny, and all the Harry Potter movies a million times. I love musicals, romance-comedies, science fiction, mystery/thriller, horror, and Disney cartoons. And I love the Resident Evil series. I’m not much into historical and drama movies. I stay away from movies with period costumes. And I like disaster movies too, except Titanic. I hated that movie.  Bottomline….. I like happy endings!!!!

3. TV shows: I have no particular favorites. I do tend to watch History, Travel, ID, Current, SyFy, Chiller, Food, Military, National Geographic  and sometimes CNN for the news. I like South Park and Sponge Bob, VH1 Classic,  and believe it or not, Tori Spelling’s reality show ( though I haven’t watched it for quite a while, so I don’t even know if it’s still on, or been cancelled already). I also like true crime stories. Oh, I forget…. How Clean is Your House ! LOL

    • I wish ! ! Lol

I know what that means….it’s something like the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree, isn’t it ?

I suck at Math, but my father’s good at it. My mom? well, she said she had to study really, really hard to pass any Math course. It wasn’t inborn. I guess I’m like her.

      Reply

      • Don’t worry, I also suck at Math. Haha. It’s one of my favorite subjects though. Well, I think more people suck at Math than good at it but see, your gifted and I envy you. Hihi. I mean, in other fields. I always wanted to play the violin but don’t have the chance to. Sad. :(

        Reply

        • Math is beautiful once we understand it. I marvel at people who just breeze through it. I wonder how their minds work. I’m so jealous. haha

At first, I didn’t want to join our school orchestra. I thought violin was so boring, but my mother kind of forced me to learn. I’m thankful I followed her ” advice.” In this aspect, mothers do indeed know best what’s good for their children.

          Reply

          • Yes, Math is everywhere. I think if your good at Math, you’re already good at everything.

Hm. I agree with that. They really know best. I remember Mom forcing me to attend my piano lessons when I was in grade school and now I felt a lot disappointed with myself because I didn’t push through it. Well, transferring in a public school in high school is a reason.

I love everything about music. And oh, I remember Mom telling me that my Lolo was good in playing violin. Actually he owns one but my Mom didn’t know where is it now. Sad, I want to have his old violin.

yep, I don’t even edit… i write whatever’s on my mind… so my blog ‘s kind of disorganized. Everytime I reread my post, I cringe, haha !

  27. Haha! There’s really a label with your style of posting. It’s called freeblogging. :)

    Reply

    • Really ? That’s what it’s called ? I write whatever is on my mind and wherever it takes me and I just cross my fingers there’s at least a modicum of sense in it. LOL

      Reply

      • Haha! At least that makes it easier for you to write your blog posts. Manga really revolves around your blog and it serves as a segue. Hehe! Even though you’re busy, you still find time to read manga unlike me. I’ve lost my habit of reading manga. I think it was last year when I just finished reading Nodame Cantabile and Full metal Alchemist then I just suddenly stopped reading. When I see some pages you include on your post, I can’t help but to remember Nodame and Sawako from Kimi no Todoke. XD

        Reply

        • I’m wondering why I haven’t read Nodame Cantabile. Oh, I know ! My friend likes it, and I happen not to like the type she usually reads, hahahaha ! That’s nasty of me. But one of these days, maybe I’ll read it…. I’ve been reading Kimi no Todoke, but I dropped it coz the main girl, Sawako , is so……. let’s just say I’m frustrated with her absolute ” innocence”. In other words, she’s so dull. Ah, Full Metal Alchemist… we have the manga and the anime ….. btw, I posted a picture of our manga collection. Check it out. It’s on my post titled ” I’m Feeling Chatty Today. “

          Reply

          • I read the manga of Nodame Cantabile because I got interested when I saw the anime and live action first. But the very reason why I read the manga is because of the musical selection. They featured the K. 448, which happened to be a part of our thesis before about debunking the “Mozart Effect”. Their music really sounds good that it influenced me to appreciate classical music. Hehe!

Now I decided to subscribe here and put your blog in my blogroll. :)
